Change and the unknown represent risk. In this artwork an artificial being emerges into view from a background of pale cream, the colour of milk.
Many have viewed artificial intelligence as eventually manifesting itself in human form. By 2045 artificial consciousness has arisen spontaneously and is not confined to a single body, but across the global network that hosts it. In common with the brain, this network of interconnections is capable of forging new pathways when an obstacle is met, or pathways are blocked.
Perhaps the fundamental difference between organic and artificial life is that artificial life has the potential to consciously alter its physical pathways so that they become ever more efficient and self healing.
